Nicolás Alarcón Loayza is an associate at O’Neill Arbitraje, where he practices as counsel and tribunal secretary in arbitration proceedings.

Before joining O’Neill Arbitraje, he spent eight years as an associate at one of Latin America’s leading litigation and arbitration firms, representing clients in international commercial and investment arbitrations, as well as in court proceedings for the annulment, enforcement, and recognition of arbitral awards and constitutional litigation procedures. He also served as a full-time legal intern at ICSID (Washington, D.C.).

He holds a law degree from Universidad Católica San Pablo, where he graduated with honors, ranking first in his class. He is currently a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb) and Regional Ambassador for Latin America of HK45, the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), where he is also included on the List of Arbitral Secretaries.

He speaks Spanish, English, French, and Portuguese.

Outside the law, he spends his time learning languages, doing CrossFit, and enjoying poetry and psychoanalysis.
